Setting eggs July 23rd! Anyone else? If so, what kind?

I set eggs on the 23rd as well. I have two broodies sitting on 16 eggs and my brinsea adv. with humidity pump has 19 in it. I made a little bet with the girls that I could keep up with them this time.. Well the "super technical" incubator could keep up with them. So far so good on both of the batches. The eggs I set are BCM, Ameraucana, and Olive Eggers. This is my first hatch with my Brinsea so I hope I wasn't too overly confident about its abilities. The girls will get quite a reward for their efforts after hatch time next Monday.(all the treats they can handle for a week). 8 days till hatch time and only 5 till lock down!!

I wanted that incubator! The Eco works good too though. This is my fifth hatch with it.

I haven't had much luck with broody hens. They have stepped on eggs and pecked at least 4 of the chicks they've hatched (3 different hatches). I had one adopt a bunch of incubator chicks that i had put in the coop and that went really well. Maybe they are too fat to sit on eggs? Lol

Just a little update for the hatch along. My eggs are at 20 days at this very moment and 19 made it to lock down in the bator. As for the broodies outside they have 12 that look viable and 2 of the 12 have pipped already! the only thing I can think that has caused this little early start to the hatch is we have had 95-105 degree days for the last 2 weeks so we will see just how well this broodie hatch goes...

I have 13 out already! I need to turn the temp down a degree for next time. Usually I am really careful with turning the eggs on time, humidity, ect, ect, but this time was a last minute decision. A third of the eggs I took out of the fridge, the EE eggs are from my mom's hen, but the roosters had been killed for a couple weeks, and I didn't monitor humidity at all. There were also a few days that that got turned only once or not at all.

These guys are Sooo cute!! Did any of y'alls eggs hatch yet?

4 hatched so far from the broodies! 1 Ameraucana, 2 BCM, and 1 Olive Egger, and one more pip! I also have 4 pipped in the bator now!

Grand finally..... Broodies hatched 5 out of 16 (temp was over 100 quite a few days the past two weeks) Incubator 17 out of 19 eggs!!!!! 22 total babies!

Wow!! Nice! So the incubator was worth it? I have fourteen. The eggs under my hen are no good. We had some days here that were over 110 degrees. I will put some pics up tomorrow or the new babies.
