First of all, I searched for this topic and didn't find anything close, so...if this has been mentioned before you all could just delete it for me.

How about small business cards - like a calling card - with BYC logo and website address and cute chicken drawing on it for your local feed stores that you can display on the counter.

The reasoning behind this: I was in my local feed store and heard someone asking for cracked corn for her Bantys. So I went over and told her it was nice hearing someone else has chickens besides me, I never bump into anyone with chickens where I live. I didn't have time to talk to her and briefly mentioned BYC. But if I had a card to hand her.......

We usually start up the "Save A Chick " campaign in February, but having small cards to hand out would be FANTASTIC!

We could have a template you could print at home and cut out or print on inkjet / laser business card stock. We could also order up a ton of professionally printed ones and give a few away when peeps order stuff in the store and make a set of like 100 - 250 available for people to buy at cost.

Let's all brainstorm and work together on what we should cram onto a 2 x 3.5 business card. Here are a few quick thoughts:

Front:
BYC Logo
BYC URL
Info about the forum with thousands of helpful members that can answer questions.

Back:
Some really basic chick care info?
Maybe a little bit of white area so if you are handing it to someone you could write your BYC username.

You know, this is a good idea, if someone were to draw up the artwork and it was hosted on BYC somewhere....I've got business card stock I run through my printer for my Pilates cards, I could make up a few and put them on the counter at the local feed and grain. Great promotional material for BYC!

i agree, it's a great idea. soon we will have control over the web w/ our vast #'s and connections, then the rest of the media and always to follow,,,the WORLD.

The best thing to do would probably be to use standard business card templates (like Avery 8371) and then make the Word files and ad PDF file available ad downloads from BYC.

If you guys want to brainstorm ideas of content and put together some ideas, I can finalize it and put up the final designs and templates.
 
I will post a jpeg. If everyone likes it I can make it a high res pdf along with a high res jpg and then either of those can be used to make standard templates.
