My 5 hens layed 1,065 eggs this year.

That's 213 eggs per chicken/year!
Pretty good considering 2 are bantams.
And Lavender was broody 3 times in the year.
They started laying 12-31-07.

ETA: I just started keeping track in Oct., but Oct-Dec. I got 187 out of 5 hens, with one of them being broody and raising babies the whole time, so really out of 4 hens.

Wow! That's over 20 eggs a week! I also have 5 hens. Though they are well over twenty weeks old, I am PATIENTLY waiting for our first eggs. I hope my family can eat that many eggs.
 
I had 6 pullets (now 5, lost one 12/11), the first started laying Aug 9, in September I had several 6 egg days so assume all were laying.

Aug 9 - Dec 31 (144 days or 20 1/2 weeks) total eggs = 564.

Aug = 50
Sep = 140
Oct = 164
Nov = 132
Dec = 78

Nov & Dec the eggs production slowed down I assume due to shorter days. Since the days have started getting longer, I am now seeing 3 eggs a day pretty regular. I am looking forward to spring because I have 22 pullets I am raising now that should start laying by March.

I started the year with 20 something layers then slowly, a new group came into lay, though not all are laying yet. There are two holdouts among the 40-something hens/pullets still.

My entire 2008 total is 4580 eggs.
The best month was December at 497 eggs.

EDITED TO ADD: Forgot to mention that two of the layers raised chicks this year.

OMG I need to start counting! No wonder I can't eat em all and have dozens on the counter... I have somewhere between 13-16 laying.

I only had one hen laying over the summer.

Starting in june till november she laid about 30 eggs from june to November.

Counting she was broody 3 times from june to november (Silly Silkies)

LOL, This girl was very odd she started by laying an egg every other day. Then when she began laying once daily she went broody.

After the chicks were about 5 weeks old she started laying again I believe she started out laying an egg every other day again and after laying 4 or 5 eggs she went broody again. after another 5 to 6 weeks she started laying again once every day and after about 11 eggs she went broody again.

I didn't even know she was laying again untill I noticed she was staying inside the coop alot when I checked she had 11 hidden eggs broody on all. My roo ate 4 of them leaving 7 left I rehomed him for eating my eggs and out of the 7 only one hatched and it hatched on day 27 because she was broody in the middle of November.

Once again SILLY SILKIES...LOL
