Is this a good bator for $46.39 incl shipping

I just purchased the very same unit and am one week into the incubation. Initially, I had a hard time regulating a constant temperature...the last two days I've had no problem. Definitely toss the thermometer that comes with it...mine was reading 4 degrees lower than the actual temperature. I've ordered a Flukers thermometer and hygrometer to get more accurate readings. Until it arrives, I'm using a medical thermometer.

Hope this helps:)

ok so 2 diffrent opions im not looking ot do a mass hatching product just maybe a few eggs to start out with and ifi get into it i could save up my money to buy a hovabator but for know will this be good to start out with as this would be my first/ trial hatch run?

I have done several hatches in a still air LG. 1st hatch 100% next hatch 0% (the thermometer I was using was 14 degrees off- cooked the ltlle beggers) 2 more hatches about 90%. Tried quail eggs, hatched 5 out of 29. I don't know if I didn't keep the humidity up enough or what.

I would say you would do fine with it. Get good thermometers (yes more than one) and go for it. I actully have 2 of them now and really like them.

I have one, would never get another and if I knew what it was like before I got it I would of never got it !!

For cheap it will hatch chicks, but takes a lot of attention !! Once you figure out how to keep the temps right and stuff it's ok.

Ive had some good hatches in mine also, but still would of got a better one (one that I didnt have to screw with so much)

I second that one! If you are not wanting a bigger bator, then you would probably do better making one of MissPrissy's or speckledhen's homemade bators.

ok i see so it takes a little extra work but its not perfect, like i said im not looking ot hatch out 30 or 40 eggs i just wanna try it to see what the fuss is about i think when i get my own place i will try this out if it doesnt work i will just sell it there is always people looking for incubators around here

i would make a bator but i just dont have time thats y i was gonna but one i could just go buy that 20 dollar dome has any1 ever tried them lol if you did did any hatch?
