We bought an Ameraucana from C.M. Estes hatchery a few years ago.
They said she was an Ameraucana but when I saw pics of Ameraucanas they hardly looked anything like her.
Here she is.

Please, tell me what you think

P.S. Are Araucanas and Easter Eggers the same or two totally different breeds? The hatchery said they're the same.

I think she's an Easter Egger. The hatchery is incorrect. Araucanas are a true breed with set standards, as are Ameraucanas. Easter Eggers are just mutts with the gene for producing blue or blue/green eggs. Most hatcheries do not sell anything but Easter Eggers, to my knowledge.
Here are some pics of my true Ameraucanas, whose sire was a show quality rooster.

So how do you ensure that you are getting a true Ameraucana when purchasing from a hatchery?

(I had thought to use the backyard pet site as I don't need 25+ chickens. )

I'm think you'd almost have to buy from a breeder to be sure. Below is the standard for Ameraucanas-if you already have one that's supposed to be, I guess you could go down the list and see if it matches up:

That looks very much like my own true Ameraucana, Scout, in the above pics. His sire was show quality, definitely not EE. Yours appears to me to be an Ameraucana, not an EE, but I am no expert on these breeds.
