Here is her udder today. I'm happy with the overall shape of it, too bad about the big ole ugly bottle teat though. I was concerned that she was going to have one of those long udders with too much medial separation that look like two coke liter bottles slung together. I think she'll make a nice cross to my Nigerian bucks next fall.

I've been watching this darn doe for three, going on 4 weeks now...her breeders were wrong, wrong, wrong about her due date! Surely we're close!

Yep, I'd say tonight/tomorrow if she bagged today.

And yes, she's got a blown teat. You can't fix it, once it happens, there's no going back.

Cosmetic, sometimes the kids have trouble nursing on them.

Actually that clipping job is over a month old! 30 day stubble! ACK! I better re-do it....

I've never heard it called bottle teat, we say they've been "blown". Too much milk pressure basically ruins the elasitcity of the teat. It can happen in does that are really high producers, or in lower producing does that don't get milked at regular times, or it can be a genetic weakness.

Most of the time it's just cosmetic. If the doe has a good size orafice and good texture, she shouldn't be any harder to milk on that side.

Pretty much ALL of the does at the farm she came from did...they're the kind that leave the goats in the pasture and don't pay attention if one needs milked down, etc.

I've been saying "tonight/tomorrow" for the better part of 3 weeks!!!

Yep, that'd do it.

Hoping she goes soon for you, I know you're tired of waiting!

She's the one that should be bred to a moonspotted buck, right?

(I just got a PB buckling that is moonspotted

He's my new Jr Herdsire. Gotta love color!)

Any goop showing up yet? What's the last date of her kidding?

I don't have enough experience to comment but I'll be watching for the learning involved.
