hey all,
just finished setting up the chickens house and making their nesting boxes/beds...

thought you would like some pics!

anything else we should consider putting in there for them? it looks kinda bare!!

they seem to love it so far!

our dog doesnt like the fact she cant see them anymore, so we have to make her a viewing platform on the side soon! hehehe

yeah the waterer is cool!! we kept seeing all the small ones that you can click in a 2 litre soft drink bottle, but they seemed very small and unstable!
then we stumbled across this one at our local feed store! and couldnt knock it back for $30!
atleast now we have piece of mind that they should always have plenty of water!

as for the roost, the piece of wood ontop of the nesting boxes was for that.... if we dont see them using it, i may just screw a piece of dowel in from one side to the other for them as a proper roost!

I bet they will love thier new home. As for the roost. You wont want them sleeping over the nest boxes....too messy. You might want to put a seperate roost in there...away from the nest boxes, feed, and water containers.

I was going to post if you do not give them a roost that they would roost on the nesting boxes then you would have lots a DOO DOO in the nest boxes.
I can see you have very healthy spoiled birdies.

and im pretty sure they arent meat birds... well im hopeing not! trying to work out what they are still!! time will tell i guess!!
