This was originally slapped together to be a wood shed. I got a truck load of skids from my work and put a metal roof on it. My wife wanted to get chickens so the conversion began:

Rain has prevented the outside work. Will post more as I go along.

Whoa!!! Lucky wife!

I'm scrolling through the pics thinking yeah, he's gonna slap some hardware wire around that and voila! Beautiful job you did there.

My wife wanted me to leave it like that also. Said it gives it a "rustic look". Bad thing about that is, being made of skids, there are alot of little nooks and crannies to cover to keep the critters out. I'm going to screen the top sides for air to get in and possibly another window on the front.

Right now she had bought 50 chicks, straight run, so I'm gonna have to wait and see how many roosters we end up with.

We both had raised chickens before but just 3 or 4 hens. So this is our first major under taking of having several. I've been on this site for about a month borrowing ideas for just about everything construction wise.

And honestly this, other than wood shed, this is my first construction project...lol. So, there has been alot of cursing on this.
