edit: Its done! Thanks to advice on this forum I made a few changes to the design and put it together yesterday and today. For the roof I deviated from the plans a bit and regretted. It was a lot of work but it will hopefully save time later and I think the chickens will like it. Pics of the process and the plans below.

I am planning on building a coop this weekend and get my chicks out of the leaky shed they’re in now. Acording to my plans this coop should be light, inexpensive, sturdy, simple, apealing to the eye, warm in the short winter, and cool in the long summer.

I live in SW Oklahoma so the summers are long and sometimes get into the triple digit temperatures. In the winter it usually gets into freezing temperatures for a month or two.

There is a peice of plywood cut for the center of the floor.

I set it up so that it will be easy to remove to clean or replace. I will probably paint it next weekend. Any suggestions on color scheme?

I don't think that two people will be able to move it, or, moreover if they can will enjoy it.. Besides that the design looks sound.

What about run space, is it just what's UNDER the main body?

RE: Moving it.. Removable pneumatic tires will be your friend.
 
I see no mention of roosts or nest boxes. Depending on how you do both, that can suck up floor space and affect how many birds you can have.. Duh me for not even asking how many birds you're planning on. :p
 
Looks very spacious, I would like to hear more detail on a run and nest boxes. I'm was just talking about making a 8x8 coop today although I didn't know where to start this plan seems like a good start tho! good job on the design!
 
Must agree with Darkwolf, it will be too heavy to lift with any ease, if at all. Nothing wrong with it otherwise, that I see, but I am no building contractor. Looks like floor space will be 8x8, which will accommodate 16 birds, if they have enough run (16x10 = 160 sq ft run.) Do keep in mind these are often recommended here but are also minimal. I don't feel they are enough and have much more space for my birds.

As far as run space goes… I have a an acre and a half around my house fenced in with 2x4” welded wire for them to run in during the day. They have about a dozen trees and bushed to hide in and a German shepherd that is pretty protective of them. (She killed one chic trying to “herd” it back into the group but seems to have learned her lesson). If I continue to loose birds I’ll make one of those PVC pipe - chicken wire runs.
