I know that's a loaded question and I probably should not even ask but I do want to maybe try my hand at showing ( i did as a 4-her) show my blr dotties but I want to know I won't be laughed at if I do show them.
check out my byc page and it's the splash laced that I would be showing (not the roo, my guinea plucked his feathers on his neck)
so how am I doing?
 
i dont know anything about showing chickens but yours are beauties !!!

I think dotties = wyandottes

Very nice looking birds:) I'm not qualified to respond as to show but yours are so much better quality than my three hatchery hens who are just coming out of a molt. I've got better quality than I started w/hatching on Memorial Day "Night"

Those roo's, if they very well mannered w/their hens will allow the hens to peck at them...if you leave something else for their attention, they don't Hen peck the roo. Like a hanging cabbage?
 
To be honest, no, none of them are show quality, and it mostly has to do with the lacing and coloring. Other than that, they are nice looking birds.

do you show? can I show them, are they now an acceptable color for the showring? or do they go as any other variety?
for those that ask, dottie is short for wyandotte, I'm just lazy at typing it out 100's of times/day.

my hens don't peck at the roo, it's my guinea male. he's the dominate bird in the flock and poor Roo, spends his day under the porch until I rescue him from bad Bart.
 
I haven't shown any of my Wyandottes. I was going to back in March, but I didn't have one that had a comb that I was happy with, so I decided to wait until my chicks are older and see what I got out my new rooster. I don't think they're an acceptable APA color yet, but can be shown under "other" or something like that. I'm pretty sure you can show both splash and blue here. I know in Germany, only blue is acceptable (which I think is dumb because you almost can't have one without the other.) What I meant by coloring is that they aren't uniform and the lacing isn't what it should be.

How did I get WHITE chicks from a blue rooster and blue/black/splash/cuckoo hens? And what will happen if I breed the white back to the blue roo?
