My local PO is helpless when i ask about shipping hatching eggs to canada and I have heard alot of people don't like to ship there for some reason. Can anyone give me some insite on this? I haven't shipped a whole lot, usually within MN/WI and have no idea on where to obtain info on this matter.

TIA

According to my understanding you have to ship them to a town inside the U.S.A. One Nation Under GOD that is near Canada. They then have to drive in and pick them up. Check out Holderreads waterfowl farm and preservation center for their information on when they ship To Canada. They also have to have some sort of health certificate that is pretty expensive. That may be a start for you.
Hope this helps.

p.s. I think this is the wrong forum.

I am getting some serama eggs sent to me in canada..the lady said she went to the po and they require a vet certificate.. cost $20 ea bird that will be laying the eggs. she has 2 hens that she will collect from so its $40 and then the shipping itself as well as the cost of the eggs.
I am paying for the certs but I "think" once certified they dont need another for the next shipment..I could be wrong..cert should last for a (year?)

I,m not an authority and this is my first time doing it legal..

Cheers

Thanks for that info, unless the buyer wants to pay for my birds to be certified it probably won't happen then
