It's maybe the best thing since Layer Pellets. I know it will sound whacked to some of you, but if you have an injured bird or animal, you may want to consider reiki treatments for it. Reiki (Pronounced Rake-ee) is a healing process that is conducted by channeling energy through your hands. It is becoming more popular in the general public and is being adopted in many health care facilities due to its effectiveness. Treatments are generally given to humans, but many are now starting to give treatments to their animals. Anyone can do it, but you need to be trained by an instructor. Or, because it is becoming more popular, you may want to find someone local to provide the treatment(s) for you. It is painless and has no side effects. I have heard of and witnessed many reiki success stories regarding pets and livestock. Hearing about it is one thing, but seeing is truly believing. So for anyone here who may have an injured bird or animal, you may want to consider giving it a reiki treatment. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Are you a Reiki Master? Energetic healing just fascinates me. Have you heard of Matrix Energetics? I'd love to go to one of Dr. Richard Bartlett, D.C., N.D.'s seminars. I think you will enjoy his book.
Matrix Energetics

How does one get started in Reiki if there are no practioners nearby?

I've read stories of people using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) on animals as well. www.emofree.com

Hi Stephanie. I am at the Reiki II level and my wife is a Reiki Master. We both work at a healthcare facility where we have seen incredible results from Reiki. Living in a rural area, we know others who have reiki treatments done to their horses and other livestock, and thought, what the heck, lets try it with an injured chicken. Absolutely amazing results!!!!

To learn Reiki, you will need to find a Reiki Master willing to teach and attune you. To save money, you may be able to locate someone who practices it, but does not make it a business. Maybe ask a local vet if they know of anyone. If money is not an option, then I would check your local newspaper, yellow pages or do an internet search for those making Reiki a business. If that doesn't bring any results, maybe check with local health care agencies/professionals to see if they know of anyone who practices it.

There are many books available on Reiki, which may be useful to read if it is something you are interested in learning. However, what you learn from your instructor may be a bit different in technique than that in the book, but generally has the same concept.

I agree, energtic healing is fascinating and leaves me wondering why more people don't do it. Thank you for the info on Matrix Energetics and EFT. This gives me something to look into. Good luck and feel free to share success stories with us in your pursuit

nh10ring--would you recommend some books? I just checked Amazon and there's quite a few Reiki books from which to choose.

Can Reiki be used for distance healing? Distance isn't an obstacle in doing Matrix Energetics and some people can learn it just from reading the book.

Hey Stephanie,

Two books that I would recommend are:
Power of Reiki by Tanmaya Honervogt
Practical Reiki by Richard Ellis

There is one also called Animal Reiki, but I haven't read that yet, so I really can't say how good it is.

Yes, you are able to distance heal with Reiki. In fact, one of the gals here at work would distance reiki another gals horses at a different time each evening. They use to play a game where the horse owner would report back in the next day to tell the reiki gal what time she thought the reiki was sent, based on the horses' behaviors. She was often right.

I know a lot of folks are sceptical about Reiki (as was I). But after receiving a treatment and seeing how it affects others, I was quickly convinced.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to look into that! That animal reiki game sounds like fun game as well as a test of one's healing intention.
