We are on day 9 and just candled our eggs from the incubator. One of the eggs had a raised ridge across the middle. The ridge was horizontal when the small end of the egg was facing down, all the way around the egg. Under the ridge the egg shell was slightly darker than over the ridge when viewed in normal light (i.e., not when I candled it.) Has anyone ever seen this?
I removed the egg because something just wasn't "right" about it. I was afraid it would leak or explode if I kept it in the incubator. When I cracked it, there was an embryo inside. I feel horrible, but I was certain that it would crack or explode anyway.
The ridge actually went right through the middle of the date I had written on the egg, so I know it wasn't there before we put it in the incubator. Our other eggs that appeared fertile were not like this.
