Well, my dorking has been broody for weeks. Yesterday I noticed 2 new baby chicks. Today I went out there and the little" blondie"

chick was standing on the edge of the nest ready to DIVE into the chicken coop with all the adult hens. I moved them and about 10 other eggs to a new pen. That's when I discovered there were 3 little chicks.

Am I supposed to dip their beaks in water like when the other ones were shipped by the hatchery? Will they find the water and chick food which is located right outside the door of the new little home? Here are pictures:

I put a draft shield up:

Put the new pen next to the chicken coop - the other chickens are very curious:

That's a good idea to keep them in that little hutch. Their mom will show them where to drink and eat, so no worries.

PS...I love the duct tape...my brooder is also "decorated" with it.
