When I built my first large incubator, I cobbled together information from several very good how-tos here on this website, but I couldn't find all the information in one single page.

So, I put together a step by step, with about 30 photos, on Instructables.com (search for user name 'chotii', same as here) - it's the only Instructable I've made so it's the only thing that comes up for the search for my name.

I think I'm finally satisfied with it. But if any of you see anything factually wrong, I want to fix it quick so I'm not giving bad instructions.

I have 11 eggs (10 White Crested Black or Blue Polish, plus 1 Austrolorp) on day 11 in my original one, with the second set up now as a brooder. It holds a marvelous steady temperature and humidity, total cost about $30.

Follow the link above; go to the page. Under the string of little thumbnail pictures, and to the right of the 'intro' paragraph, there's a link that says 'Print PDF'. This will permit you to download a printable PDF.

Fixed. Of course I poured the water in mine after I finished assembly, but I put the pan in earlier, so of course I put the instructions in that order. I don't like prying the wire floor up to slip a pan under. BUT you were right, so I fixed it.

I would put the pan in first just state put the water in last lol! I've known people who would put the pan in and the water and then try and work around it! It's a great setup too!

Fixed that too.

I am so pleased with this design, whoever invented it. I started the new one up and running last night. Today, after a little tweaking, it's holding a steady 99.5F with 50% humidity.

I want more eggs to put in it!! But I told hubby this batch of Crested Polish were the last ones this year!! (unless my friend Meagan's rare birds start producing more than she can put in her own little Hovabator, that is!)
