Just wondering if it is time to start planning an Oregon Fall Chicken Swap?

I was thinking maybe sometime in October?

What do people think? Salem again?

Time to start planning again.

Okay Bill.. I am in... whacha got???

I have blue cochin LF and one SF hen
Marans (all colors)Top Breeder quality (not hatchery) Wade Jean, Bev Davis, Donna Gherke, Valentine
Penes (in black)

I have some cuckoo layers from hatcheries I would trade away... they are POL hens.

I have a trio of Welsummer POL from private breeder.

Looks like the only thing I would have extra at this point are some quail.

Lost a couple of birds, and sold a bunch. I wouldn't mind just getting together again!

Anybody else interested?

Bil

I would be interested... I had to miss the last one so I would definitely try to make it this time. If all goes well I should have some frizzle/silkie chicks. Would it be in the same place?

I'd be intrested. Depends on the date.
Missed out on the last one due to a prior commitment.

Possable availability :
Button quail - Birds & hatching eggs.
Coturnix quail - Birds & hatching or eating eggs.

I would love to go but what about Albany or Eugene? I would be very interested in both Blue Cochin hens that Geebs mentioned. I have lots of nice SQ Silkies, Jersey Giant chicks, some adult cuckoo Silkies, couturnix quail, Cuckoo Marans, Speckled Sussex and Blue and Buff Orpington. I could bring chicks or juveniles in any of those varieties. Oh ya, I also have a young pair of Auburn turkeys and several geese and ducks. Jen

Geebs will bring eggs and babies... Sorry for the misunderstanding... I can hatch you some straight run babies for the swap if you want....I only keep a few LF and one SF blue cochin on hand for eggs...LMK if you want me to hatch or I can bring eggs (definetly my preference) and you can do your own.

Also may have limited supply of Marans eggs.

Might have a Pene or two in the roo department

May be thinning out splash/blue marans pen.... (haven't gotten the guts up for that one yet) really like em... color isn't there for some of em... but MAN are they nice to look at.

Ok, looks like we might have a few people in. Let's start looking at dates!

October 3
October 10
October 17
October 24 (only day where UO &/or OSU don't have a home game. I don't watch football but I know a lot of people do)

What do people think? If we wait too long, we'll have a larger chance of having rain (but in Oregon in October we have a chance of rain no matter).

Bil

All October dates are open for me. This is what I have available at the moment:

I
also have a bunch of Marans, a few EEs and a couple of Barred Rock in the brooder. In the incubator are lots of Welsummers, some Rhode Island Whites and a few Silver Laced Wyandottes. Ok, the RIWs and SLWs are in a hatchery's incubator, but I should have plenty to trade.

I like the idea of Albany but I think Eugene would put off the people from Washington who came last time. Should we vote for date and place?
