IT finally happened. My wife was home on her lunch hour and was in the yard with our dog....and from the coop she heard a lot of carying on,,,squawking and clucking ....so she walked back to check on the girls and "Beauty" (my wife's fav) was sitting in one of the nest boxes "singing" like crazy....then hopped out and ran to the door looking for a treat....dw went in and checked the box and there it was!!....

And a glamour shot of Beauty...barred rock hatched on April 13....
I'm so glad she laid it in the nesting box...will the others follow her lead?...We've got plastic eggs in the boxes...should we do anything else??
