We went to Gatlinburg last year. We loved Ripley's Aquarium and you have to eat at Calhouns restaurant - the best ribs ever made and I don't even like ribs!

It's a mini golf place set on the mountainside. You ride a cable car to the top of the course and putt your way down.

If it's still there, it's been there 30+ years. It's one of the things we always did when I went there as a kid with my family.

That and eat salt water taffy from the place where the box has a rocking chair on it.
The other places aren't as good.

A trip around the Cades Cove loop is a must in my opinion. However, be prepared for a long, slow, leisurly pace. The 11 miles will take three hours minimum, but you will likely see lots of deer and turkey, occasionaly a bear and lots of idiotic tourists and locals trying to get close to said bear.

Dollywood is usually fun, but I suggest a weekday if at all possible.

The Dixie Stampede Dinner Show is fun, especially for animal lovers.

I second that Ripleys Aquarium is great.

Tanger Five Oaks outlet mall is a shoppers dream.

Clingman's Dome is a nice view and an easy walk if the weather is clear.

We are semi-local and those are all things that we enjoy going for on occasion.

Cades Cove Loop is wonderful. There are some fantastic scenic routes to drive up there. It's GORGEOUS in the fall. Definitely plan on some time in Smokey Mountain National Park. DH and I loved the day hikes. We saw deer, black bears, etc while hiking. It was fabulous!

Easy walk? Hmmm.... I made it to the top, but I don't recall the easy part.

We did all of the above (except for the outlet mall). The kids loved Dixie Stampede and Dollywood.

We took a side trip to the Biltmore house. Definately worth the drive!!
