I have twin black silkies who have been sitting on a nest together for about 3 weeks (they've had eggs for 2 wk).

In the last few days I noticed they have a scaly, crusty rash around their eyes & ear lobe. They try to scratch at it.

The rest of my flock seems fine.

Hmmm. I haven't seen anything like that before. But then again, I don't have any silkies. I wonder if anyone else has?

Could it be some type of fungus? I haven't seen anything like that before. Maybe put some antibiotic cream without pain reliever on the rash.

Looks like ivomec eprinex pour on 1 drop on nape of neck should do the trick -- anyone know if you can get that at a feed store?

I've never gotten it, but from reading many a post, it does sound like a common thing to get from the feed store w/o a prescription. If I am thinking about the right thing, it is often marketed for cattle/swine/sheep.
