Posted earlier this morning about being up all night and about Jax saving my chickens from some stray dogs, but it gets better.

Long story short - Dogs came back. Jax cleared the fence. Jax chased the bigger dog that was now chasing the cows while I chased the little dog that was after my chickens again. Then I chased Jax who was chasing the bigger dog who was still chasing the cows. Three heifers went into the little pond and got bogged down in the mud. Chased Jax who was chasing the bigger dog that was chasing the cows clear across the meadow and down to the big pond. Almost, but not quite got my jeep stuck. Yep, the mud's that bad. Looped around to the road, no sign of Jax, the big dog or the little dog, but lots of frantic cows everywhere. Checked on chickens real quick. Called DH at work and yelled Help! Went back to looking for dogs, cows and to the safety of my chickens again. DH comes home from work (thank you Chief!). Spot two heifers down in a pasture. Come back up to the house to call the farmer that the cows belong to. Walked back down to check on the cows. Come back up to the house to change out of my PJs, there are some things your neighbors should never see. DH brings Jax home. No sign of the other dogs. Help neighbor get the heifers loaded onto a trailer. They're not hurt from the dogs, but from another problem. Neighbor tells me to put my new shotgun to use next time I see the strays. Send hubby back to work. Check on the chickens once more. Tell Jax his butt is staying outside until I work up enough energy to wash the cow poo and mud off of him. Put supper I had planned back in the frig. Plan sandwiches instead.

OMG! Do you know who they belong to? I'd have the "chief" call the idiots and give them a real scare....

Chief doesn't have any authority out here. We not only don't live in town, we don't even live in the same county.
Neighbor said who the belong to, but suggested I go ahead and pop a cap in their butts anyhow. Problem dogs. Apparently the owner has been warned several times before.
No leash laws in the county. Unwritten rule is you see a dog, with or without tags, you try to alert the owner if you can and know who the dogs belong to. If they are causing immediate harm to the livestock, they're history. Since most folks around here are livestock owners they know they have to keep their dogs up or their dogs can get shot. No questions asked.

What? That I did it? Or that I did it all with my pink fleece jammies on?

Oh man you should see my jeep. Nothing like running a vehicle thru a pasture full of poo from cows with the green grass poops.

I do believe you are the perfect subject for a comedic reality TV show. I can be your sidekick and we can argue about how to clean the tub, and then chase dogs together.

So you're saying that it was FUN playing in the mud. Was it like The Dukes of Harzard????

We get back up to the road after checking on the cows and DH says here, let me lean on you for a minute. Me: Why? Him: I need to clean the cow poo off the bottom of my boots. (Okay, so DH didn't actually say "poo", but family friendly forum and all that). Gee, I feel sorry for anyone that has to ride in the back of his patrol car tonight.

Don't feel sorry for them. If they're there....they deserve that!
