One Eyed Jack is a mutt (but really beautiful) rooster, and i need to find him a new home.
Originally we "took him off of someone's hands" because we were going to use him for our first butcher - practice.
But he must've got word of our plan, because he ran away as soon as we got him home. He lived in the woods for many months, until our pullets started getting closer to maturity; then he started coming around. He has since figured out that we aren't going to hurt him, but he is challenging our "chosen roo," and we need him to live elsewhere. He still roosts in the trees near our coop. As far back as i know he has lived on his own in the woods.
I don't know how old he is, but he is definitely active with the girls, and his spurs are more than an inch long.
We would butcher him, but we realized that he is not a great size or age, and we don't think we would enjoy the meat.
It's also o.k. if you want to butcher him. I would like it better if he got to live in the woods near your house, but the number one issue is that he needs to go away. You wouldn't even need to feed him if you have a some woods near your house. He's a great forager, and he's pretty to look at.
Please come and get him asap.
More pictures at this old link where i tried to figure out what breed he is.
