I have a broody chicken who's sitting on some eggs. when I took her off her net to feed her, she was trying to poop, but nothing came out. she's shaking all over trying to push it out! please help me!

She maybe trying to lay
Have you checked her vent
Try a warm bath and see if that relaxes the muscles

she's only been broody for about a week and a half. her vent is kinda bulged. I would give her a bath, but she's sitting on some eggs and I don't want her to be off her eggs for too lond, or they will get cold.

wow, I never knew a chicken could get constipated, maybe needs more liquids ?
Maybe has a stuck egg or is egg bound ?
I wouldn't cart her off her eggs for a bath, though.
Her eggs would suffer.
Can you incubate the eggs, and then treat the hen ?

last time she poopes was yesterday, I just fed her and she's been drinking plenty of water. sadly, i don't have an incubator....
maybe you need to glove up and get the vaseline out, and go for a wee exploration, sort of speaking.
can you tell if she has laid her egg everyday or if they may be stuck ?
Have you X'd her daily eggs and can tell if she has skipped a day ?

she's broody so she's not suppose to be laying eggs...
I do remember reading somewhere (maybe BYC) that you an mix a small amount of harmless oil on her feed, like mineral oil, olive oil, maybe flaxseed and or flaxseed oil would be good to loosen up the gears a bit.
But seriously it sounds to me as if she has a stuck very large egg.
I just had a BOrp lay a triple yolker.
Never seen that inall my 50 years !
