picking up chicks at 10 am please help!!! PICS

Goog Morning all , I am gong to pick up some chicks this am and the ad on craigslist says 7 EE's and 4 regular, my question is how can I tell which ones are EE's ,are there any certian features I should look for,, they have a picture and are on craigslist ,st.louis, can anyone help ,thanks aqian , you guys are great!
 
Go to the Breeds link at the top of your page, and look down the list. There are pictures of EE's in the breeds database. Wonder what they mean by "regular"....
 
Well since an EE is really any "mutt" chicken that carries the blue egg gene, the one thing I would really look for is that they have pea combs. Any comb other than a pea comb and the chicken has a 3% chance of laying blue or green eggs. If they have blue/green/slate legs, muffs and pea combs then you'll have yourself some really nice looking EE's. Just keep in mind that not all EE's lay blue/green eggs some also lay pink/brown. If you don't care about egg color than the previous doesn't matter since EE's aren't pure bred!

I tried to respond on the other thread but was locked out while writing.

Most often an EE will have muffs and beard and green colored legs, but not always.

Most often an EE will lay an egg that has some sort of blue or green tint, but not always.

Most often an EE will have a pea comb, but not always.

And you can never tell what the adult will look like based on what they look like as chicks. Seldom does a chick have green or even slate legs.

That helps alot doesn't it?

I've had muffless beardless EEs that have laid a blue egg and had slate feet.

I've had muffed and bearded EEs that laid a light brown egg.

EEs most often is a catch all for Ameraucana or Araucana rejects OR crossbreeding of those two breeds with other breeds.
