We processed some birds today and wanted to thank you all for all your great advice. This forum is awesome.

I cannot believe how gigantic my birds were at 7 weeks. Check out the breast on this one.

The kids couldn't get enough and ate two and three helpings.

Again, thanks for all the tips. I am really pleased with our outcome. I started out with 26 birds. Lost two to flip at 3 weeks. Started taking away their feed at night and lost no more. Now I have more meat than I know what to do with!!!!!

I just love that first pic of you and DH (?). You look so happy together with your meatie project.

Congrats on your success. Doesn't it feel great!

It is a great accomplishment. I just can't believe how BIG they are. Good grief, if I had gotten more I cannot even imagine. Whew. We have to do the rest this week and this is going to be a time sucker. I'm trying to figure out when I can squeeze it in.

How much did they weigh at 7 weeks? Can you upload that picture in a bigger version that shows the breast meat? It's hard to make it out. I ordered all males this time around and that is my goal to hit 7 weeks so I'm interested in your weights.

I would estimate that they were around 6 pounds fully dressed. They were like twice the size of a chicken you would get at Sam's Club. I will weigh the others this week and let you know. I can't imagine how much bigger they will be by the end of the week. We could not even eat two of them and we had 11 people eating. I still have half on one of the birds to make dinner with tonight.

We had 24 total and that was more than I bargained for. I may have to go buy a freezer!
