We'l be driving so we can go to some other places on the way. We will be visiting the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Yosemite, San Francisco, then head north to Washington to board the Alaska State Ferry. We will be on the ferry for a couple of days on the inside passage (I get seasick, so no open ocean) Heehee! We intend on spending some time exploring the Kenai Penninsula and salmon fishing the Kenai River near Sterling. I am really looking forward to that! We have a friend in Eagle River and will be visiting him also. Hubby's twin brother and wife will meet us in Anchorage and spend a week with us and go to Denali National Park. After BIL leaves, we will take our time heading south visiting points of interest along the way in Alaska and then through British Columbia. We will not be home until mid-late JULY! Wow! That is over 2 months! I hope I don't get homesick! I have never been away from home for more that 2 weeks at a time! This will be our trip of a lifetime!

Hey ALASKA BYC'ers - or any other BYC'ers that have been there - I would LOVE to hear about cool things to do and see if you have suggestions or tips.

I am STILL researching cameras. I have looked at tons of them and have not been able to make a decision yet. What do you camera buffs think? I want to be able to get good up close photos.

DH has lined up some fishing, I don't know who the guide is. Who knows, I just may bump into Mr. Bishop! Stranger things have happened! Heehee!

In DeNali take the tundra tour-not the bus tour. Also in DeNali go to Jeff King's Gooselake kennels. He is a sled dog racer who is a multiple times winner of the Iditarod. If you like dogs or performing animals of any sort, this is a must. To see these dogs and their desire to run is amazing. It is a great trip and one you will never forget. For me the long days made it difficult to sleep, but that was a minor inconvenience. We also took a rafting float trip in Copper River-piloted by a 17 year old girl who had been doing this since she was 11!

Wow! Very interesting! I will be checking into those. I have found that a lot of things must be reserved in advance. Tell me a little about the Tundra tour, please.
