What is poly vi sol? Where do I get it? How much should I give a chicken? What age should the chicken be? Why should I give it? Do I put it in the feed or waterer? What does it help? Can I give it to all of my 3 week old chicks?
It's a children's vitamin. Make sure you get it W/O extra iron. I got mine at Rite Aid, but had to order it. Some people say Walmart carries it. You can get it through any pharmacy. You can give a drop or two to a chick at any age. Right on their beak, or in their water or food if the chick is too squirmy.
You can give a few more drops (4?) to a mature chicken.
You generally only need to give it if the chick seems poorly, you are afraid of a vitamin deficiency, or it has a problem related to vitamin deficiency.
I am just learning about this myself, so if I goofed on something, someone please jump in here and correct me!
I have used it several times. I just put a couple drops in the beak. Twice was with birds that had wry neck the others were ones that just seemed a tad smaller than the others. I have put a few drops on their food too. Be sure not to get the one with iron. Our local little pharmacy carries it. If you think your chicks need a little boost you can put a few drops in their crumbles.
