It's 6:54 in the morning. I should be sleeping but can't. The whole house is very quiet, DH's not even snoring.

I'm in the office. Just now, right behind me, I hear a loud voice say "207 county, 10-8".

Betcha if I told him that the Captain (207) had a sexier voice on the radio than he has he'd remember to turn it off.

Reminds me of right after we bought the house we are in now, our neighbor came over here really late one night, after she got off work, she said she had gone inside her house and heard voices, that her husband is at work and she is scared.

So hubby and I go over there with her, we too hear the voices, we go towards them instead of running away like she did (and I would of too had hubby not been there lol) and flip on the light switch.......it was her husbands walkie, he is a train conductor and is supposed to have this on him at ALL times and he had forgotten it lol She was embarassed, and I was relieved lol
 
A few years ago my mom's cousin, who is a fire-and-brimstone country preacher, got into his car. It was summer so he had left the windows down a bit. He's driving along and hears talking from the backseat. He said he just knew it was God speaking out loud to him. . . he turns around and there is a talking conure in his back seat.

No idea where he came from, who he belonged to, why he ended up in his car, but he became the family pet.
 
Now DH's cell phone is beeping from a missed call. Judging by the ringtone, it was the PD calling. Oh well, if it's really important they can call the house phone.
Phone is beeping right next to his head (on the nightstand) and he's not hearing it.

Wish I could sleep that dead to the world.
