New incubator and super excited

Well about a year ago from now I was super excited for the two incubators that I bought. Well I was disapointed for sure. I only was able to hatch out one turkey, 4 chickens and 2 peacocks. And I set around 100 eggs total. It was really frustrating and I think it was due to the waffer thermestats in them. So long story short, I went and bought a cabnet incubator with an electric therostat and I am way excited. I am going to give it test run here in the next few days after I talk to some people about getting some hatching eggs. here are some pictures of it. It is a Dickie I got it for $400 and it has auto turners and the humidity auto top off. It is dang sweet and I had to let you all know because my wife thinks I am a real wierdo. Here are the pictures.

This year I have high hopes of hatching peacocks, turkeys, chickens, pheasants, hungarian partridge, ducks and what ever else I can get my hands on to.
 
NICE !!!!!!! now don't blame the old incubators waffer thermostat, they work great. Most problem is because type of incubator or too small heating unit(slow recover time)
 
They may but I dont know what there deal was for me they were pretty inconsistent. I guess it could be because of the barometric preasures are constently raising and lowering here in Idaho all year long and I am not around enough to adjust them. So I am sure part was my fault as well.
 
wafer thermostat once set , don't need readjusted, all the temp change happen in those styrofoam incubator, wafer go out when they leak, them don't shut off. with the dickie i think it use both type wafer and soildstate.

Yeah the new incubator has a back up waffer therostat but the main one is electric. either way I am stoked and going to talk to some people today about collecting some eggs for me.
 
Im super jealous man, i wanna switch to a cabinet style bator in the summer.. I cant WAIT!! anyways happy hatchings!! I hope there's a bunch!!
 
Thanks man me too. I have to try to hatch enough to recoop the money for buying it. Even though my other hobby paid for it. Good luck later on with getting a cabinet incubator
 
I have four people collecting eggs from their chickens right now to set them hopefully on monday. Some will be a whole week but being they are doing me a favor I will take my chances. They will all be barn yard specials but to most a hen is a hen is a hen. SO I will provide some birds to some locals for sure and probably keep a few for myself. Any ways I am excited.
 
You have my incubator!! It is a great piece of equipment. I'm just now getting ready to fire mine up for a setting of 5 dozn eggs. I've got eggs coming in from 4 different places. I would not recommend doing weekly loads with this one. Once a month would be optimal. That way you can use the incubator as hatcher. The clean up is important. I've hatched out dozens of birds with mine. From chickens to quail. It works great especially with the auto water fill. The only thing I had difficulty with was getting the humidity high enough at the end. But we had great hatches anyway. I have to figure out what to put on the bottom of mine this time, to make clean up easier. It has a tray, but the chicks tend to get out on the back and the lid is just a little too close to the tray for larger chicks. I leave the top off. I might switch to a cardboard box to see if it helps.

I'm planning on starting my eggs Saturday or Sunday, depending on when all the eggs arrive. Good Hatching!!
