Hello, and welcome to the Cochin Contest!
This is the PERFECT place to show off all of your pretty, feathery Cochins. White, Splash, Black, Red, Brown, Blue, and many more colored Cochins are all excepted here! And, it's easy. All you need to do to enter is:
Post your hen/rooster's -
1. Name
2. Age
3. And Specific Color
After that, you're free to post fun facts, stories, and more if you'd like! Just remember, this doesn't have to be some kind of competitive competition. Make this contest fun, social, and even a fun way to learn new things about this beautiful breed of chicken. If one of the two chickens that you have entered has chicks, feel free to post pictures and tell us their names

Just have fun

Rules:

- Have fun!

And 3rd Place:

Uh-oh! So far we don't have ANY prizes for the winners of the competition! So please, if someone would be so kind as to offer thee prizes, that would be great! The end date of this contest is January 30th. That is not the day that you stop entering, but that is the day that Peep Talk and I judge. That means that on January 28th, there will be NO MORE entries. And the winners have been chosen! Thanks for your participation.

Now have fun, be competitive (in a good way

), and show off those pretty fuzz balls!

Is that one hen and one roo per Color Variety, or a max of one hen and one roo in total? And is this for both Bantam and LF competing against one another? Anything in particular you'll be judging or looking for - might help us choose which pic(s) to submit - are you judging the overall pic, or the bird in the pic?
And when is the submission deadline? (Sorry for all the questions!!

OK - well, I'll get the party started:

This is Calypso, helping me rake leaves this past fall, although his favorite pastime is cuddling!
He was about 5 months old when the pic was taken.
He is a Golden Laced Bantam Cochin Cockerel.

And this is Tango - her favorite pastime is posing - you can see she's a real showoff!
She was about 1-1/2 years old when the pic was taken.
She is a (project) Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin Hen.

This is Lemon Boy. He is approx. 2 yrs old & is the foundation roo for my Lemon Blue LF Cochin project.

Lemon Boy

This is Bridget. She is 2 1/2 yrs old. She is the hen who started me on my Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin project. She is also the perfect Mother & will keep her babies until they leave for graduate school~!

haha I find cochin and sebright mommas (mine are mixed) are long time moms lol. Mine have a bunch of "mini" chickens running around and they still take care of them. They have had them for as long as 2 months lol.

This is Max, my bantam Brown Red Cochin roo. He's a real gentle boy, and is great with his girls. He was probably about 9-10 months old here.

And this is Matilda, one of my Brown Red Cochin girls. She is just one of the sweetest Cochins that I have.

I was so lucky to get these. They're probably my favorite color in Cochins. And they have the best temperments. Of course, most Cochins have that awesome personality, don't they?

By the way, beautiful birds guys!

Thank you for all the questions! I really didn't know how many details to put on the first post
wink.png

Is that one hen and one roo per Color Variety, or a max of one hen and one roo in total? That means that one person can enter two Cochins in all. Doesn't matter their color
wink.png
But, they can post as many pictures of those two Cochins as they so desire
smile.png

Is this for both Bantam and LF competing against one another? Yes, doesn't matter how big or small your bird is
roll.png
As long as it's a Cochin, it's aloud. Just a reminder, Cochin crosses can be entered too! I have two Cochin crosses that I'd love to show you guys just for fun if you'd like to see them along with my two deceased Cochins and my little Cochin rooster

Anything in particular you'll be judging or looking for - might help us choose which pic(s) to submit - are you judging the overall pic, or the bird in the pic? The actual bird is the only thing that matters in the picture(s) posted. The judges won't even pay real attention to the background.
When is the submission deadline? I have just gotten a PM from another user who is going to help me judge! I asked them when the best time for them would be, but have not yet gotten a response. I will let you all know when the final dead line is going to be
big_smile.png

So far everyone has beautiful birds! My Cochins aren't half as pretty
lol.png

Also, if one of the chickens that you have entered has chicks of their own, please share pictures! We want to make this contest not only competitive, but fun, social, and a great way to learn about a new breed. So, feel free to share other pictures, names, and ideas and comments with other people
wink.png

Also, I know, I have a lot to say
roll.png
, both judges will NOT be entering any of our chickens into this contest for the sake of fair results
wink.png

Finally, that's all I have to say
