There is confusion on these boards about terms used in the Feed industry.
Discounts are typically given for Volume. The company for which I work gives volume discounts starting at 2 tons.
Discounts are also given for Bulk, which means not bagged. We grant a $25 per ton discount for this type of feed. In some cases the dicsount for Bulk (non-bagged) may be much higher.
From a labor perspective it takes just as much work to mix 6 ton batch as a 1 ton batch in our system. The small batches are inconvenient and we actually lose money on the small batches due to labor.
