They arrived around 6:30 this morning after a 1.5 day trip in FRIGID weather. We've lost 4/25 so far. BOTH white silkies (very sad), 1 SLW, plus our only RIR. The RIR was doing well, then just went downhill really quickly and died in my hands. White silkies were trampled. The other 2 bantams - grey silkies - are in excellent health it seems. So far everyone else is doing really well. We were going to sell the 6 SLW, but there are 5 left and we're going to keep 1. Also, Ideal screwed up and sent us GLW instead of columbian wyandottes, which is fine, but I kinda still want some columbians!!

Here they are!!

Very nice...I have 30 coming the week of the 21st and I am very nervous as this is my first batch....I hope I can deal with the mental torture of loosing a few...My daugther and wife will be basketcases...

10 RIRs
10 Silver Laced Wyo
5 Silver Leghorns
5 Buff Orps

They are super cute! Sorry to hear that you lost a few though.

I hope I can tell who is who when I get mine next month. I've never had any before other than when I was kid. How can you tell who is who? Did they label them for you?

The golden laced wyandottes (1 has really poor coloring - almost all black with a little gold on its head, hopefully she'll grow out of that!)

DaddysChickens - beautiful assortment - I will KMFX they all arrive safely. It was TERRIBLE getting some DOA, but what was worse was seeing the 2 that died after we picked them up. But, with so many distractions we were able to move on.

Now we're hoping to find a RIR and maybe a couple silkies to replace them before this group gets too old...

Caddy-Corner-Chick - I hope they all arrive safely!! Did I mention it was 2 degrees when we went to get ours - BRRR. Hopefully it won't be that cold for ya!! Post pics when you get them!! What breeds did you get?

blue_egg_lover - no labels. under the RED light it's really difficult, so we brought each one out individually. There weren't any extras, so no unknowns so we were able to figure it out pretty easily. When you get such a different assortment they all look pretty different! What breeds did you get?

nanawendy - THANKS! love your name BTW.

We love them too!!

Thanks axion_lotus - wanted to set up a photo shoot for the little ladies hehehe

All - happy to report ALL of them are doing wonderfully this morning. Couldn't sleep last night worrying about them, but when I went downstairs (they're in the basement) they were all sleeping and all stirred pretty quickly after I turned on the lights.

We have 1 little lady - the 1 silver laced wyandotte we're keeping - who is the biggest sweetheart EVER. She is the only one that runs right to the door of the brooder when we go downstairs. I'll have to give her a little photo shoot for being so special. We marked her toe with a sharpie so we can be sure to keep her when we give the other 4 SLW's to the guy who ordered them.
