(See Miss Chicken thread for pictures of the entrants)
Here are the finalists:
Name: Lilly
Age: 6 months
Breed: AL/RSL
Lilly should win Miss Chicken 2011 because she is kind and loving. She will let you pick her up and snuggle. She is also protective of her new friend, Chicklet, whos still very young. Yesterday, she protected Chicklet from being attacked by another dominenet hen. She is also fun. She frolicks aroud, loving life. She never goes astray and behaves like a young hen should. She is also very pretty, with a cream base and beautiful brown wing feathers. She is tall and has long legs (like a model ) and a longer-than-usual tail for a hen. She is definately a beauty contender, too!

Name: Midge
Age: 7 months
Breed: Cochin (bantam)
Paragraph about why she should win: Midgey is such a sweetheart. I purchased her from a show in March and soon realized she was sick. She was put into my brooder for quarantine and we gave her some pills that the vet gave us for her. Luckily, she just had a cold. It was bad, though. She sneezed a lot. She foamed at the mouth once. She could barely even coo. But she put up with me having to stick my finger down her little throat twice a day to give her the pills. She quickly recovered (with help from her medicine) and was introduced to my six other chickens. She first met Flutter the Gold Sex-link. Flutter chased poor Midge across the yard. So then she was introduced to the two EE pullets, Aspen and Quinn. They were wary of her at first, but she eventually won her way into their skittish little hearts. She has also stuck up her courage and pushed the dominant GSL's out of the way when there was corn to be eaten, risking a serious pecking. But at the end of the day, she gets to sit on the top roost with the alpha and beta hens who like to cuddle in her fluff.

This is my hen CC, a bantam cochin. I believe she is 2years old. I got her from a friend who's flock she had never really adapted to, getting picked on and out casted apparently making her skittish and flighty even with her care taker. I only had 2 hens at the time, a frizzle and another bantam cochin so i gladly adopted her. They are now a happy little trio, each one never straying too far from the other. Our frizzle is handicapped and cannot perch (surprisingly is boss of the others), so CC and the other cochin sleep huddled with her in a box on the coop floor. She puts the 3 in the 'the 3 little amigas'! She started as a misfit underdog- now she finally 'belongs' and is now so sweet and inquisitive.....so deserving of Miss Chicken 2011

Okay, here's my favorite porcelain d'uccle hen 'Miss Chicken' 2011 She does it all! She is food provider, pet, bug exterminator, and mama! This little hen 'Babymama,' is quite sure of herself. She is very jealous, and growls at the other hens if I am not petting her! She loves to snuggle and be carried and petted. She as a dutiful broody just hatched out 5 of 5 eggs in her first broody attempt and is taking great care of them without pecking me in the process of petting them. I love how she jumps up in the air to eat a mosquito if it comes near me! She is my favorite living hen! I may have to get more pictures of her with a better camera to do her justice. She is 1 1/2 years old.

This is my big 9 (almost 10) week old pullet "Blue." She's a Blue Copper Marans and she is one of the friendliest chickens I have ever met. Not only that, but she is definitely the most curious and has a spunky personality. She eats gently out of people's hands and she just loves to hop onto people's shoulders, back, arms, and lap. Sometimes if she's feeling frisky she'll stand on top of my head and try to sit down, like it's her nest. She likes to find a spot between my arm and my body and she'll poke her head out while she sits on me. She's a stunning dark blue with some blackish lacing. Her coppering has not come in yet, but it's slowly starting. Notice her extensively feathered legs and toes. Her eyes are bright, alert, and they look full of curiosity. She'll peck at my clothes and try to "scratch" my socks like they're part of the ground. She's a beauty, inside and out!

Paragraph about why she should win:
Daisy was a rescue chicken, she was bought by my family with her best friend, I mean BEST friend. They'd hang out together, and everyone always picked on Daisy, maybe because she was different. So she'd run to Misty and huddle and play. But, one night Misty (Her best friend) was attacked and killed, so Daisy was scared and crushed. Daisy is my special needs chicken too. Well, I spend about a half a hour outside with just Daisy (School nights.. other nights more like an hour .), playing with her, and treating her like a princess. Since barely anyone accepts her, she spends so much time with me... she knows her name and follows me... I take her everywhere! So, I just think Daisy should be Miss Chicken because she has gone through so much, and she can show everyone being different doesn't matter! .
