What a great idea!

Having those participating in their threads clean up the messes they made and keeping it open if they suceed is a fabulous idea!

I really hope this works!

Where did you get such a brilliant idea?
 
It wasn't hard. Nifty is a brilliant kind of guy. After all he conceived the idea of BYC. How's that for shameless sucking up to the boss.

Okay I'm new around here and feel I'm missing something?!?! Innuendos are disallowed? What is meant by "clean up posts"... Language?!?! If so, is what's passable on let's say Comedy Central approved language or do we have to stay Disney Channel level? Not that I intend to use vulgar language on the site, but I just see a difference between "cuss words" and morally unjust terms (like those of a racial nature)! Just want to make sure I'm clear and up to date on what's going on...

Ummmm... Ill try to answer... not expert though..

There are alot of kids on BYC.... so not anything you wouldn't say to your best friends 8 year old. Who knows what kids will click on.. and it's nice they get to learn about a fun hobby themselves here! Without learning what their parents wouldn't want them to, that is.

And by 'clean up' ... it just means they ought to go back and edit out things they have said that would be inappropriate.
An innuendo, is something said alluding to an inappropriate topic without coming right out and saying it. A read between the lines type thing.

Gotcha striving for 100% family friendly?!?! That makes sense I guess... If it was me I'd put restrictions on underage account to hide "off topic" from them... So there's still an "adult" area for goofing of and enjoying some good jokes and such...?

But then again if it was me I'd make separate sub-forums under "where am I..." for each state so people could have multiple state threads and stop having to read three pages to find the last thing said to them... It's just a jumbled mess having to "talk" over eachother w/ 20 topics at a time in one thread! And for what, something that could be remedied in 20 minutes tops...
 
Adult areas become a disaster that spill over to the other parts of the forums. We have seen other animal forums and BYC knock offs try this and fail. They aren't around anymore and we are says a lot right there.

20 minutes???? LOL Try it from this side of the forum. The last minor split was months in the planning and a week of moving threads. Then another month for the members to get used to it so new posts appeared where they should. What looks like a minor undertaking from the member side is a huge task from the staff side.

Then consider the fact that BYC forum is now a good part custom written code, so the simple add ons you see on the forum sites just don't work here.
