What mix is this?!?! Chicken masters i NEED HELP!!!

i have a mixed breed chicken and i have no idea what mix he is.he has extra toes if that would help. i need some people who are really good at figuring out what mix he is. he looks like a black sex link pulet, but im SURE he is a roo. we could go into details, but lets just keep it simple! i got him from tractor supply in the black sex link bin. ive had TONS of topics about him allready but nobody knows.the county fair is coming up soon so i really need to know what mix!!! i really need some experts here! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!if you needs any more pictures please just ask!!!

this is my black sex link pulleet. she is the same age as the mystery chicken above. look at the differences between them!!!









please help me!!
 
I believe that this boy is a Dorking cross of some sort. Is he bantam sized or standard?

I don't think you will ever know for sure what else is in the mix, though just narrow it down to one of several breeds. Sorry.

he is medium sized definitely not miniature!

Wow, you and I have similar minds, that was exactly my train of thought when I suggested Dorking. I'm still scratching my head over the other half too.

A black sex link is created by using a red or maybe black male with a barred female. All of the male chicks will be black with a white spot on their head and will grow in to a barred roo. The girls will be black as chicks and be black with varying degrees of red on the neck and body as a hen. Possible scenarios to rule out from a large hatchery:
A-Dorkings used in a sex link cross by accident doesn't look possible
1-Dorkings don't come in a Cuckoo color (barred) in the states so they shouldn't have any that would have any available to accidentally mix in with the barred hens. Plus even if they did, the boy (you are sure yours is a roo) would display barring.
2-That means that the Dorking would have come from the dad's side and again, the boy would have a white spot on his head and would be barred.
B-2 errors simultaneously happening where they mixed a Dorking in the wrong pen to breed to get eggs and they tossed the resulting chick into (wrong) the black sex-link bin. The mix-up could be at the feed store level where they put a chick that looks like a sex link in to in to the wrong bin--I've seen it happen before.

Now a local breeder could have a Sex Link and cross it with a Dorking and sell the babies to a feed store, although none of the feed stores around here buy locally.

So I guess after running through the scenarios, I think its very unlikely it is a Dorking Sex Link cross.

If I were you I would contact your feed store where you got your chick and ask them where they got their chicks from the week you purchased him. The places I have gotten my chicks from will tell me where they order from and which breeds came from which hatcheries. Once its narrowed down you could contact the hatchery (or breeder) and find out what breeds might have been mixed together or send a picture and see if they have guesses.
