So this is not animal cruelty why? I have ducks and live off of their eggs.
My grandma bought some retired battery hens once, took the some time to figure out what outside,a nest and a roost is. But they still laid well enough.

Yes very and i already knew how they were raised before i read your blog. Thats why i love my ducks. But still with any other animal if you lock it up or put it in a cage to small for it, it is considered cruelty but not with chickens? I have never understood that.

I know, me too. It's complete cruelty. In some places it is banned.
