New Years Special 6+Lavendar Ameraucana eggs great lines & NO RESERVE

]This is for 6+ Lavendar Ameraucana Project hatching eggs + means you will get more than 6eggs if available.We have been blessed with so many friends who helped us with lovely purebred Lavendar cockerals and young pullets and hens... (They are now full grown, and no more pullets!) I had just about "given up hope", after so many attempts to secure good lineage eggs, babies,birds, but several wonderful donors shared some of their flock with us here on The Garry Farm... We have several Bloodlines in our group including Harry Shaffer, John Blehm and pips and peeps. We love where we are with this project bird and we plan to be working with them for years...AND we owe a great deal to BYC'ers as well as others for helping us assemble this flock!!!!!!!

Anticipated ship is week of January 2, subject to timely payment & any laying pattern changes, which is not expected! 6+ eggs means you will receive 6 eggs and more if they are available. By the way, the Garry farm will be moving down some Lavendar Ameraucanas into the last 3 days of hatch tonight so I'll keep you posted on numbers and percentages! Okay just checked on the Lavendar Ameraucanas due for lock down.... 11 were put in the incubator....Oldest was 11 days old!!! You will be getting young eggs not the older ones we hatch for ourselves......Of those 11, all 11 were fertile and filling out nicely....They were put in the brooder tray for hatching!!!! There have been several instances lately of folks borrowing photos without express permission from The Garry Farm.... I will be working on watermarks again this fall to try to deter this....Please do not borrow our photos without our written permission. It took so much of our farm effort and time to bring our birds to their present confirmation and in some cases over an hour or even two to get a useable photo shot... I'm sure you understand! Please pm if this is not clear.

Thanks to all who have been helpful in this project for our farm! Now we have hens and roosters too and the new Project begins....I'm so excited! You might wonder what a project this is..... We will begin working with the egg coloration which is more of a blue green instead of the full green and we'll be doing some work on body size as well.

Shipping details

The 6+ of each category means I will include extra eggs if available the day of shipping. Extra eggs may or may not be available depending upon the hens

For this listing we accept Paypal, no e checks please as they delay sending of eggs! Shipping in 48 US continental states.

The shipping is average based on our shipping rates. We ship eggs in the same way we would like to receive them. We bubble wrap each egg separately, putting in a regular box (not an egg carton) which is then cushioned and set in a larger box. These are not the prepaid priority boxes but we use the large boxes that can be ordered through USPS as the standard mailing box. Our mailing costs can often be higher than the prepaid boxes but we find that they arrive in better shape, so it's well worth the extra time, packing materials and shipping costs. Occasionally with a large order, we will use an even larger outside box. After carefully preparing you package we drive your eggs to the Post Office, where our local post office sets the egg shipments to the side to protect them. They are then placed on the truck on the top of all the other boxes! Even as carefully as we ship, we cannot guarantee that there will be no breakage in transit. We do not guarantee the percentage of your hatch your hatch as many factors such as the incubators temperature and humidity, etc are very variable. .We will provide assistance to you during the hatch and help in every way possible to have the best hatch possible.

I am confused, is this a relatively new species,?? Have genetic kinks been worked out?/ What are the weaknessess and strengths??

Big Springs Hatchery, yes, we plan to list them in the future..... We are so super excited about them and grateful for all of those who were part of the beginnings of our flock! We look forward to working on this project group for quite a while....Now as we have the lavendar orpingtons, lavendar ameraucanas and the lavendar collared coronations..... We might have some really great combo packages too....We've done a few and look forward to doing even more.....NOW if I could only get some lavendar silkies.... So far no luck,,,,but I'm on a hunt for them!!! So, if you see some top quality lavendar silkies in your neck of the woods, please do let me know.

Several folks have contacted me and ask why these are project birds. Part of the "project" part of this is that I as well as other serious folks will be periodically breeding in with great lines of very typy Black Ameraucanas to improve egg coloring, body type, etc. There is presently no approved standard for lavendar ameraucanas... It takes years of work to have birds approved and folks willing and committed to work on such a project. Prime example is that the Black Copper Marans recently had standards issued by APA and they've been around for years and years and years. Our Farm, The Garry Farm is benefitting greatly from those on BYC and those off of BYC who have done the work on this project...We are only now getting to be a part of the project. We have benefitted greatly from BYC and non BYC'ers who have shared birds, swapped eggs,wisdom, encouragement, etc as indicated in the first posting. We will continue to work with this grouping as well as our Lavendar Orpingtons and other birds to make them the best we can.

For more informationi on this project and some of its BYC'ers who have been working on the project, I encourage you to visit Breeds, Genetics and Showing..... There are fairly comprehensive discussions regarding Lavendar ameraucanas. Instead of kinks, I like to see these as challenges and things to work with. I have some of my hens that I would like to see lay bluer eggs for example....Others don't need improvement in this are, but I may wish their body type were wider...

Lavendar is not presently an approved APA color for Ameraucana feathers....so that it gives the serious breeder a chance to be part of this exciting relatively new color and type of Ameraucana...

I hope one day to be able to show birds, but with the degree of work on our full-time farm, it may be a while before i can do this. Again, I encourage you to do some reading on this over in the Breeds, Genetics and Showing Section. I agree. Ppl see lavender and they see dollar signs. They breed and sell just to make money. Not to try to improve the breed.

Additional information for those who may be interested, our farm is waiting until the Black Ameraucana rooster I got from a swap with LaMike starts crowing,,,,,at that point we will have a pen for breeding back for improvement.

Again, I have an attitude of gratitude for being able to even have ANY eggs, as my poor boy Sharkey (a pure Lavendar Ameraucana) waited soooo long until I had any lavendar Ameraucana girls for him. I cannot tell you how happy he is with his new flock I am a great believer that those who wait should be rewarded. But then again, I'm just a small farmer with a huge love for all our animals. I especially enjoy the different colors and feather patterns and personalities of our birds We appreciate the interest in this and our other animals and our farm products including milk, veggies grown with no chemicals and honey and specialty baked items, preserves, pickles, etc. Have a blessed evening....I'll be checking in periodically to see if there are further questions.......Nancy
