we've had them for 2 weeks now, have no idea of the breeds so any thoughts are appreciated!

I don't know what breeds they are, but they're very pretty! Thanks for sharing your pics! Dang, they sure don't stay little and fluffy long, do they...
 
the one with the bad hair day, both her and the roo have tufts on the top of their heads...any ideas? his looks like a mohawk with his comb and hers looks like a pompedor...LOL
 
You know what, I just went out to gather eggs and your top picture looks like our Black Langshan rooster, Tiny Tim. (So named because he's enormous!) The broad breast and feathered legs really look like him. I bet that's what you've got there, catballou. They're beautiful, glossy with some green irridescence to the feathers! Tim's a beautiful roo, our top roo in fact, and has a great personality.

the other rooish one that i'm pretty sure is a roo, is a bit more wild acting. i have 2 small girls so am not sure i will be keeping him..LOL
 
Well, if the Langshan one is a roo and you do decide not to keep it, you might consider eating it. (I know, sacrelige on these boards!) Tim is enormous. If he wasn't in our breeding program, we could just about have him for Thanksgiving dinner, he's that big... and my father says that he's even a bit underweight for a Langshan. That is one seriously hefty roo!
 
i couldn't eat him..lol i'm a veg head anyway..lol but that sounds like a big roo!! there are probably people around who would take him if need be...

He really is, but he's in no danger of going to the table here. He's our top breeding roo, not just because of his size though. He's very docile (although he doesn't let anyone approach, he and the others weren't handled when they were chicks so they're shy), gentle with the hens, and just beautifully made. He looks like a textbook picture of what a roo should look like, has gorgeous long tail feathers, and his crow's impressive, too. Big as he is, he was never a bully. If one of the other roos starts picking on the hens, Tim will run over and make him stop!

Can you tell I really, really like that roo? And here I thought I was hiding it so well... LOL!
 
i'm wondering if the tufty head ones have some polish in them? i've seen other pics of polish about that same age and their heads look similar...at least i think they were polish..LOL

any breed suggestions would be truly appreciated as i'm at a loss on most of them...the light brahma i'm pretty sure of, and the black one in the first picture thanks to iopele..

speaking of..i am stoked you like your roo so much! maybe we'll get to keep this one if he turns out to be a he..LOL i just worry with my little girls running around, and i don't want to keep the roo cooped up while the hens get to run around the yard..you know? poor guy...
