So, he calls, SOOO excited, and says he found a car at the dump! I wonder what he means as I walk through Lowe's to get more hardware cloth, and he goes on to describe what he thought was the top of a sandbox, shaped like a plastic kids car. he instantly thought "chicken tractor" as did I and so he lugged it into the pickup, with permission from the dump 'guy' and now it's ours!

Help me turn this trash into treasure! What should we do with it.... here she is.. aint she a beaut???!!!

it's a few feet long, sorry so vague, but it nearly takes up the full size bed of our F150 to give you an idea....

A treasure indeed! Chicken tractor sounds good, or even nesting box or something.........

wow, a brooder, I definitely need to make a new one, or a second one in the next 2 weeks..nest boxes! that's also a fantastic idea!

I have 3-5 roosters that also need individual housing, breeding pens (or tractors) to build as well...

I just can't believe this would've ended up at landfill... such a lucky break for us... does anyone have any idea what it USED to be? i don't think this looks like a sandbox type thing....

probably had wheels and a seating area, either pedals or it was flinstone style for children to ride around in!! with little doors that opened and closed.

yeah it was a bed, my son had one. But I definitely see potential as a tractor!

A bed? How adorable is that then!

Lets see.. how to make it into a tractor...

first... hardware cloth over the windows... how to attach it...

or maybe it would be best served as a brooder... places to clip the lamp, probably sectionable for different litters... something different to look at on the back porch.. hehehe..

what would You do to make it a tractor?

My growout pen shelter is a recycled kids plastic play house.

I put heavy plastic up in the windows to block out the rain....
