I don't know what you're talking about since I've never lived anywhere besides Alaska which wasn't so different. Do we love our chickens less? Or is it something else?

Well I see I have not posted to this thread, so here it is.

I did not go back and read all 116 pages of posts, but hit the last 15 or so........

We are located in / near Shelton, depending on my mood, it is either too far out in the sticks, or not far enough.........

Birds - Lots - Chickens, Geese, Ducks and Turkeys. Most recent count is 14 varieties of chickens, 3 varieties of Turkeys, 2 varieties of Geeses, and some ducks. Things kind of have a mind of there own at times, this has been one of those times. Hopefully things will settle down going into the spring. We certainly will be having eggs coming out our ears when everyone comes on line.

We expect that the Black Coppers, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, BBS Ameraucanas, Turkeys, Toulouse Geese, Khaki Campbells, Golden Copper Marans, RIR's and Barred Rocks will all be laying in the next month or so with Araucanas, coming on line shortly there after. It ought to get interesting, bator space will be at a premium.

Weather - Ready for spring here, need to move everyone outside.

NPIP - I have been trying to get the State to work with me for a few months now, the lack of progress is frusterating.

Washingtonians Odd? - Well, I thought it was just me, I kind of feel better now, LOL.

Anyway, hello to all the Washingtonians, stay dry, and may the mountain be out.

Yab: I personally don't think we're any loopier than the rest of the country... we didn't take it in a bad way, we just wondered where the comment came from since it seemed to be out of the blue.

Nivtup: Hey! I didn't realize you hadn't posted on this thread yet, I would have mentioned it.

Did I see another Port Orchardite here? Welcome!

Ok... back to bed. I stayed up way too late last night celebrating my birthday...

Now that I have some vegemite toast and a slim fast in my system I think I'll sleep better than I did last night.

For some reason I didn't receive notification when you posted. Sorry for leaving you hanging.

Have you seen my quote? ... something about "I think I'm nuts"? I'm in no way disagreeing with you. I actually pride myself in being a bit of a cook.

I just thought it was a little "odd" for that to be the only sentence you post and was looking for where you were coming from.

Normal is boring. hehehe

Hi to SeattleAeris Chickens are allowed in Seattle. They are considered pets and you are allowed 3 pets per city lot. My sister has a double lot in the Crown Hill area of Settle and has 6 hens most of the time. She has had chickens for most of the last 20 plus years. I wish you well on your new pet.
Justbugged from Enumclaw WA I am a chichenless chicken mama looking for some Maran chicks

I had to my roo Adolf to the vet after he was attack by his kid Mussolini. The vet in Vancouver WA considered the chicken to be an exotic bird LOL. It wasn't cheap but they fixed him up. So you just need to find a vet that works on birds.

One doesn't have to be odd to live in WA, but it sure doesn't hurt either. Signed by a King County Native

Hey all, just checking in. I am in Otis Orchards, about 5 minutes away from Cabelas. I have decided to get some layer ducks this spring, probably campbells and runners. So far the job hunt isnt looking so good but spring is on its way so jobs should be opening up. I still have birds on my brain every second, lol. I will check back later when I gt my laptop cord.
