Burn ban?
hide.gif

I call them recreational fires. Keep them under something like 3 feet round and I think you can get away with it... in snoco at least.... the last time I read it. LOL

I'm not the only one who uses four bags of paper to start a wood fire am I? Not my fault the wood is damp!

burn ban ? we cant ever burn outside...even where we live...have all the chickens and farm animals you want...but dont burn anything in your yard (ssshhhh we just have really big fires in our BBQ , or cut it up and burn it in the fireplace, it's the only heat we have and it gets cold in the morning.

Yep, we just keep them under 3 feet and in a big pit and they have no problem with it.

You can have one in Kitsap if it's for food or your primary heat source. However, if you read the list on what you're not supposed to burn... you have absolutely nothing to burn. We burn occasionally, though we usually do it for BBQ. I don't know much about it, but my DH reads up on it every year. He was paranoid that one of our 2 "yuppy" neighbors would call the cops on him. Perhaps he'll relax this year, since they both moved away. (And the neighborhood collectively sighed with relief! They were horrid between telling us what to do with our own yards or actually stealing bits of our land from us and taking down our trees!)

My F-i-L burns stuff all the time, but if they county REALLY wants to make their way down the miles of dirt road to get to him to tell him not to, they can go ahead. However they have their hands full with all the Meth labs in the area to bother with a little bon fire.

we have lived here 4 yrs this coming Oct and the first spring we where here the neighbor called on us for burning (we where trying to clean up the property) they denied calling but we got a $250 fine, and a visit from a fire truck!!! funny thing the fine letter said that the burn was at the neighbors address, and the the person that called it in was the neighbors name so I just called them and nicely told them....you sent this to the wrong address, and also sent it back (with my proof of address) and havent heard anything since then...but now we only burn yard "stuff" in the BBQ....the old crusty BBQ!!! or in the fireplace!!!!!
just so you all know...our yard is FULL of super tall OLD pine trees...or pine like trees, since the ice and snow we had our yard is COVERED with limbs......landlord wont haul them off....so we have to get rid of them some way, LOL .............they will keep me and the boy warm till DH comes in a few days.

and down here on the South End of Key Peninsula it seems there are more fires going now than usual--blatenly. The fire dept wont enforce the PSCA rules out here.......at anytime during the year it seems. But then again, the last time the store was robbed it took the sherriff's dept over an hour to get there(the liquior store owner in Key Center told us). Just coming home from Lakebay I noticed 6 houses that had fires inside the house and 1 person burning in their yard.
I do burn a lot of yard-stuff throughout the year, but I 've never just ignored the bans.........

My mom was whining to me today that she & my dad couldn't use their woodstove to heat their house and had to use their furnace.

Oh wah.

Our boiler went out nearly 3 weeks ago and we're heating our house with those oil-filled space heaters until DBF can finish the repairs on it. He said we may have heat again by next weekend.

Isn't it time for Spring....my furnace too decided to break....yet again, sound likely I'll be getting a new one....cost over 2,000 to fix....and I spent 1,000 last year...and too much the year before.....and there is still more to break!

I have lots of ducks too!
Some are crested!

Do you happen to have an extra "white" crested drake?
I have a friend that's looking for one!

What the hay, djack... in the hospital?? Welcome back! Hope you're on the road to recovery.

Our boiler is in pieces in the garage now, giving me a mild heart attack seeing it in that condition! DBF says it looks like it's never been cleaned, despite our having paid people annually to do so. What the heck where they doing under the house? Banging on the pipes and twiddling the guages?

We have spent SO. MUCH. MONEY. on this thing over the years.

Our mantra: we just want it done correctly, and DONE.

to DBF if he can get it done. What woudl I do without that man?
