Absolutely agree with all that's said in this article. I will give a protective place if possible, but sometimes the hens take that out of your hands and they usually manage just fine. I don't own an incubator, probably never will. Have hen, will hatch!!
 
Thank you xxmrsbellxx for bringing this to our attention. I also have done most of this for years. I get very tired of repeating myself when the question comes up. Now I can merely point them at this excellent article.
