Hello my Okie friends

As you may know, we are planning a Chicken-Stock type meeting called the People of Oklahoma Poultry Swap (or POOPS for short

) on the 25 of April at the KOA in Choctaw.
This thread is to help organize the donations.
Every attendee is asked (but not required) to bring some poultry related item as a donation to help us pay for the facilities and food. Possible ideas for donations are hatching eggs, chicks, birds, used incubators, pens, home made feeders, a box of egg cartons, poultry figurines, an extra poultry book, etc.
We will have a silent auction and a raffle table set up. Just so you understand the difference in the two, and how this will be setup, here is an overview:
The silent auction will be for the higher-dollar items. Each item will have a sheet of paper by it, and you can write down your bids through out the day. This is the one that is also optional on weather you are donating the money, or keeping it.
The raffle will be for the lower-dollar items. All items will be out on a table, and there will be tickets you can purchase. There will be a box for the tickets, and at a set time, we will have a drawing with the first drawn ticket holder choosing their item first, and so on.

To know how much table space, tickets, and such we will need, I am keeping a list of who is planning on donating what. To start us off, Slightly Cracked has already agreed to donate something.

Thanks!

And keep those donations coming

I'll be happy to donate 2 dozen hatching eggs of whatever eggs are most plentiful at that time from the breeds that I raise ... could be either Spitzhauben, Cuckoo Marans, Brabanter, Jersey Giant or Turken hatching eggs.

I'll surely think of some more items to donate before our get-together.

Thanks, Carla

Grace :

Glad you decided to create this thread for us, good job Thanks. My DW and I are thinking about some items for donation but have not made a decision yet. I think she has some homemade chicken craft artsy fartsy thing planned, as for me I am not sure yet, I will post and let you know.

I'm getting some things together to bring for the silent auction, but I don't yet know what they'll be... Can I help in any other way? I can print out silent auction sheets, etc. Please let me know if there's anything you can think of that I might be able to do!

Thank you for the offer, cityclucks

Closer to time, I may ask for help with other things, but for now here are a couple of things I thought of:
We are going to need a roll of tickets (the kind where you put one in the box and keep one.
And if I get to visiting around, I may need someone to man the raffle table for a while.

Thanks

I can bring the tickets and will be glad to man the raffle post - but I won't arrive until Saturday morning - will that be soon enough?
