I got this recipe from a big shot IBM manager's secretary... Loved this stuff. Turns out years later when I am living in Chile the wife of a British executive has a bunch of her children's schoolchums and folks over and (small world) here's this dip again. Amazingly good with Wheat Thins...
Mis en place:
2 8 0z. cream cheese, room temp
1 Tsp. Tobasco or Garlic Chile Paste
1 Tbls Curry Powder (or more to your preference)
1/2 cup cocktail peanuts, chopped
1/2 cup raisins, chopped
5 strips cooked bacon, chopped
3 scallions, chopped
Cream cream cheese in mixer, add Tobasco to help the creaming along. Add remaining ingredients and combine well... Let rest in covered bowl in fridge at least 2 hours prior to service so flavors open up. Serve with a big platter of Wheat Thins.
This stuff moves so stand back when serving.
