I wonder what the hens will look like. The chicks don't look like regular black sex-link. Maybe they'll be black bleeding buff around the neck instead of red ? Thanks for the pic!

In my experience, buffs when crossed with blacks (or black based colours) often seem to have chicks which have a lot of colour coming through on the chest & front of the bird with a lot of the black being pushed towards the back of the bird.

I just wanted to let the OP know that I too was very interested in pictures as the chicks develop. Some new pics of the back of the heads would be nice, with good lighting conditions. My wife wants to try this cross (because she doesn't want me to get rid of our BO roo). We are already doing black sexlinks with or RIR roo and BR hens.

Wow ! I may try this cross in the spring myself, beautiful chicks.
Does it matter which bird is male and which is female?
