Sorry, I'd like to but I probably can't. If I do, $2 sounds fine.

Exactly how old are they now?

I hope to see you at the chickenstock!

The youngest 2 hatched on 5/15 and the oldest hatched on 5/7. I hope to see you at Chicken stock too. If not, I'll see what we can do about meeting you somewhere. We are in Burlington county which isn't too far from Philly.

OK, just went out armed with fully charged camera. Wow are they hard to take pictures of when you are by yourself. Anyway I think I got all of them.
1st a picture of the babies with momma on their 1st outing.

#1 Thought this was a Lakenvelder/red star cross, but it has a split comb, so I believe it is a Golden Laced Polish/Red Star Cross

#3 I think this is a GL Polish cross. It has laced wing feathers coming in. This is the 2nd to last to hatch and the one that was in the paper. *SOLD*

i hope they're not gone before i can get them.

i either own or can easily get all the nesscessary items, except for the brooder. the local Country Junction doesn't have one that i can find. i do know what to do for the coop though, so basically a brooder is all i need to find.

Brooders are easy. You can brood them in a rubber maid container even. They will quickly learn to jump on things such as a waterer though so it won't be too long before you'd need to cover it with screening or bird netting. That is what we do. These guys are already used to wood shavings too, so no need to worry about them eating it. #2, 4 and 6 are some of my favorites too. Of course the 1 I helped hatch has to be my most favorite I think because he/she wouldn't have made it if I didn't help. Keep me posted on if you'll be at the chicken stock and I'll be sure to let you know if all 3 are still available

yeah, I thought something like that with a brooder lamp would work, but I'm not sure how you'd get the lamp to go 5 degrees down every week. wouldn't you have to buy a new lamp every week?
Sunday morning is a definite no.

Sunday afternoon, maybe.

If you have something like a tripod you can use that to help raise the lamp. We did this the first time we brooded. DH finally put a hook in the ceiling which we just clamp the light to and we raise it up as necessary. Or if you are really crazy (like we are and have done) you can brood on the dining room table and clamp your light to the chandelier, then adjust as necessary. These guys will already be 1-2 weeks old and have gone through 30 nights outside in an uninsulated, nonheated coop with momma of course. I know I won't be able to stay any later than 4:30p- 5pm as I have to work that night. Hope you'll be able to make it. If not, we can try to work something else out.

ETA: DH did want to make sure you know these are straight run chicks.

they are girls though.
