Our 1st hatch under a broody *updated* new pics 6/25

Sad news. The buff colored EE cross (#4) died. I just found it drowned in the ducks pool. I just missed it. We tried reviving it, even got water to come out of it's beak, but I couldn't get it to breathe again.

I even tried mouth to beak which actually grossed me out after realizing this poor baby drowned in duck water. Really taking this 1 hard. This 1 was definitely a favorite of the whole family.

he/she was my favorite too...

i realize getting only 2 chicks might not be a good idea (just in case), so i guess ill have #11 instead...

Some updated pics from today. So far I only have pics of the polish/red star crossed chicks.

Looks like 2 pairs. 2 dark and 2 white.

I'm sorry, I won't be able to get the chicks. I didn't mean to disappoint you, but I haven't even had the chance to get on BYC until now, because I have been so busy. The rest of my summer's schedule is packed full, and I was hoping to get them while they were young chicks or up to 10 weeks. Turns out having chickens of any age may not work out at all, either.

I was really looking forward to it. I even had collected some wood for eventually building the coop. Maybe I can have chickens next year or in a few years, but unfortunetly it will not be this year.

I hope you understand, sorry again. I hope they get good homes!

I do understand. Hope you will be able to get chicks soon even if not from me. There are really great to have. We just recently had even more hatch so we have quite a few chicks around here.
