What do you think... are these Red Sussex hens??? *Lots of Pics*

I agree that you Columbian Rock looks more like a Delaware.

And for your hens. They dont have a strong enough columbian pattern in my opinion to be pure Sussex and they are too light to be Reds and a little to dark and too much variation in the color shades to be buffs. Here is the feathers site Sussex page. http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Sussex/BRKSussex.html

They
are not Welsummers, their breast kinda have the salmon coloring but they dont have the rest of the Red Duckwing coloring of the Welsummers.

They look like New Hamshire Reds as I said earlier, NHRs have weaker black columbian ticking in their hackels and have a variation of differnt shades of the light gold color, and they have yellow legs.

Thanks for posting those links...

I am still getting mixed opinions as I have had a few people say they are Red Sussex, just weak blood and others tell me they are Rhode Island Reds mixed with a Columbia Rock. So who really knows.... It would be nice to get a genetics test if possible and see what they really consist of.

A local hatchery sells something called a Red Sussex Cross.

taken from their website
"THE RED SUSSEX CROSS: The cross produces a predominantly white rooster, which is easier for plucking. As with the Red Rock, there is an excellent balance between good meat, decent eggs and a very easy to handle and raise flock. Pullet chicks are red, while the cockerels are yellow (same as a Red Sussex cockerel and/or the Columbian Rock)."
