White Leghorn on BO would probably give white chicks white black donts and I imagine they would have some pretty buff leakage as adults.

RIR x BO would give New Hampshire Red colored offspring.

Ok, I am not working on chicks just yet, and totally a novice/confused by the different variables with genetics, but I now have something to study.

I am trying to plan on the breeds I would like to start with in the near future.

If I had a BLR Wyandotte Rooster over Delaware hens, will I get a sex link chick similar to illustration #2 (chipmunk pattern)?

Also would a Buckeye Rooster fit into Cat 1, similar to a RIR and produce sex link chicks over a Delaware hen?

You can probably tell, I like Delaware's, and I am now looking for a "Red" rooster to help make sex link chicks.

Yes pure Gold gened rooster will work, so if you have a breed of rooster that you can look at and see that he has no white (silver) markings, then you know for sure he will work. So yes Partridge, Buff, and Red Chanteclers will work just like any other Partridge, Buff, or Red breed will.
 
OK Most anything but white . Hey Clint, It is recommended not to use a white hen like whiterock and others because a of possible dom white. However the rhode island white is not mentioned in that group, and from what Ive red is a popular choice for the gold sex links. Know why this is?
