Glen, Mississippi. 40+ chicken years
Selling out about 175 of the chickens from our flock due to health reasons. I am going to be unable to properly take care of everything here on the farm for at least a few months due to a heart attack and other health issues and as painful as it is to me, I just need to cut back. Don't bid, just PM or call.

You can read about the cause of this auction and the things that have lead up to this decision here on this thread; https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=438875

Will
sell any one chicken up to the entire sale list. I'm not selling out, I'm keeping all my project birds, the kid's birds and those that I feel I just can't bear to lose, but the majority I just need to move. I will be processing every day I'm able and selling locally too, so if you are interested in any of these, please PM me and I'll hold them for you.

No shipping. Any chickens sold must be picked up here at the farm or I can have them delevered in our general area. Most will be between 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 months old. Unless stated otherwise they are all hatchery stock.

We have had two major storms hit here in the past two months which destroyed several of our large grow out pens and alot of these are crowded and some will be a bit under weight or have some tailfeathers picked due to the crowding. Everything on the farm is mud due to the rain and snow we've had almost every day for the past two months, so they aren't the pretty clean birds I normaly sell. They are a mixture of pullets and cockrels, few of the breeds are seperated, but all are healthy. Most of the hens are laying now or will be in the next few weeks.

I listed $5.00 in the heading but that is just a starting point. I'm willing to work with the buyers on the price as this is an emergency sale, not trying to make any money on them. I have at least $5.00 each just in feed. Would be willing to trade for fencing, lumber, work around the farm... ?

Partial list includes;
2 two year old splash cochin bantam hens, bought from a local breeder, nice quality - asking $10.00 each. (pretty firm on these as they are my wife's pets.)
7 bantam sultan hens, two years old, hatchery quality, raised lots from them last year, but no longer have a rooster for them - asking $7.00 each.
Several spangled Russian Orloff cockrels - Make offer?
around 15 or so salmon faverolles, both hens and roosters, poor hatchery quality. - Asking $5.00 on cockrels and $7.00 on hens.
several hatchery new hampshires, production reds, sex links, partridge cochins, buff orpingtons, odd balls and farm mutts. - Asking $5.00 on cockrells and $7.00 on hens.

Just listing off the top of my head, so I'm sure I'm forgeting a few breeds.

I'll try and get more pictures n the next couple of days.

Sorry Terry, I know how you feel

I will keep my ears open for anyone wanting/needing some birds for you. I hope you get them down to a more manageable number.

Remember, there are more where those came from. In the future I'm sure we can work a little incubator or broody magic for you. Imp, Sir Birdaholic, and JTHagans have offered their help. With a crew like that you can't go wrong. Just ask Gritty.

I sure wish I could lend a hand - I've been looking for Sultans for months! But somehow, I don't think DH would think it reasonable to go all the way to Mississippi for a few chickens.

Just want you to know; I'm praying for you.

Ummm the wife still hasn't noticed the brooders running, and I've got two breeds of chicks coming from Jody in the spring, eggs ordered from Kathy & Wynette.... do you really think I need you and the rest of the "Wild Bunch" filling the nest boxes up with broodies? I'm down to 235 head right now I think from a start of around 400 in December. With ya'll helping I'll be back up to that by the time I get outta surgery!

Just tell him you're going to get chickens, he'll understand. karaokechick & son came from southern Florida to northern Arkansas, & are on their way back today. They traveled that far for just 2 Red Shouldered Yokohama roosters. (they left with 5 roos & 1 hen).

Nope, Giants. 'Cause mine are giants, only like miniature giants.... huh wait, that ain't right... really short giants... huh ... anyway, I wanna really big giant, one that goes around stepping on buildings like a godzilla chicken in a Japanese movie.

And I have a long crower.... with around a hundred roosters it sounds like one starts at 3:00 am and sorta goes til dark.
