Is it a certain type of lye(food grade or anything special).... Dont know much about lye.

I use a plastic icecream bucket.
All measurements are made in ounces or grams so you will need a scale to measure everything. A glass measuring cup is NOT the way to measure the ounces in a soap recipe, unlike a cookie recipe.

Roboic is the brand I was able to find. It has to be 100% lye, it is usually use to clean drains.
I know some buy it online but I haven't tried that yet.
I agree on the messuring, it is a must to messure.
